The Hackensaw Boys, Morgan O'Kane
The Hackensaw Boys, Morgan O'KanePrepare yourself for a night of raucous fiddlin', pickin' and stompin' as The Hackensaw Boys tear into town to once again take our fair stage by storm.

The Hackensaw Boys first began playing their joyful blend of old-time tinged music on the streets of Charlottesville in the autumn of 1999. Their music, while drawing upon the spirit of the mountains, is sophisticated and informed by the best elements of punk rock and classic country, with a healthy dose of bluegrass thrown in. As one reviewer put it: Imagine the Carter Family meets the Ramones and you begin to get the picture.

Morgan O'Kane has emerged from the subway and the clutches of noted "Scum Billy" band Casa de Chihuahua with nothing but a suit case, kick pedal, banjo and a sense of urgency. His first full length release Nine Lives will dismantle all your ideas of what it means to play the banjo. He's accompanied tonight by frequent collaborators Ferd Moyse of the Hackensaw boys and Brooklyn Brown Grass' Ezekiel Healy.
