A great start for children, for parents, for families
Wonderplay programs provide opportunities for young children and their families to share a special time in life—when all the world seems new and everything takes on unique meaning. We offer an exceptional array of programs, classes and workshops year round in art, music, dance, science, aquatics, sports, play, social interaction, early intervention, family concerts, Jewish culture and parenting. In addition to the vast resources and facilities of the 92nd Street Y, our spaces include playrooms, a rooftop playground, an indoor GymMaze and the Children's Library.
Parents and children come to the 92nd Street Y to play, learn, explore, and have fun together. They appreciate the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the sense of community. Parents often tell us that they meet their closest friends in Wonderplay classes and programs.
For over 60 years, the 92nd Street Y has been recognized by parents and professionals for excellence in early childhood education, and we continue to serve as a national model for innovative programs. Our approach to learning inspires curiosity, a love of learning and self discovery, and our environment fosters connections... encouraging young children and families to blossom and grow during the first 5 years of life.
Wonderplay is also in print!
Written by Fretta Reitzes—director of the 92nd Street Y's Lillian & Sol Goldman Family Center for Youth & Family—and Beth Teitelman, former director of the 92nd Street Y's Parenting Center, Wonderplay and Wonderplay, Too are the parent's guides to active child's play.
Wonderplay programs at the 92nd Street Y are supported by a generous grant from Wendy and Robert Jaffe.
