Wendy Sabin Lasker
Director, Daytime@™, a Program for Baby Boomers

Wendy Sabin Lasker directs the ground-breaking Daytime@ program. Launched in 2002, Daytime@ reaches out to the growing number of baby boomers starting to move out of the full-time workforce, offering them a place to map out the next phase of their lives, pursue new activities and long-held interests, and meet others at the same stage of life. Under her leadership, the Daytime@ audience has grown to 6,500 from 3,600, and what started as a handful of classes and lectures has become a roster of over 200 programs.

Ms. Sabin Lasker came to Makor in 2002 with a wealth of experience in nonprofit and arts management. From 1997 to 2002, she headed the Performing and Literary Arts Program at the Sol Goldman Y (unaffiliated with the 92nd Street Y) on East 14th Street. As Founding Director of its Sperling Center for Cultural and Performing Arts, she helped establish and oversee an interactive children's museum; an art gallery; and the theater program and facility. She also developed the Center's performing arts classes for children and adults. Before joining the Sol Goldman Y, Ms. Sabin Lasker directed education programs and group sales for an annual audience of 60,000 children and adults at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts. At the Ulster Performing Arts Center from 1980 to 1983, she served as Director of Marketing and, before that, an associate in audience development.

Wendy Sabin Lasker holds a B.S. in Theatre from SUNY New Paltz and an M.F.A. in Arts Management from Brooklyn College. She has also studied educational theater at New York University. Ms. Sabin Lasker lives in New Jersey, with her husband, Jerome Lasker, a research scientist.
