Stacey Eisler
Deputy Director, 92nd Street Y May Center for Health, Fitness & Sport

A service-industry sales and marketing expert with over two decades of experience, Stacey Eisler joined the 92nd Street Y's health and fitness center as Associate Director in 1996. Between then and 2003, when she was promoted to Deputy Director, she played a critical role in expanding the May Center's offerings for adults, teens and children (the Center has over 100 different fitness classes each week and a dedicated youth-fitness program for teens). As Deputy Director, Ms. Eisler helps direct an 80,000-square-foot, 5,000-member health and fitness center with a 5,000-square-foot cardiovascular training area, two weight-training rooms, two gyms, three racquetball courts, an indoor track, and a 25-yard pool, a pro shop, and a café.

Ms. Eisler's primary focus is overseeing a sales and membership team responsible for recruiting and retaining May Center members (while the 92nd Street Y is not a membership organization, the May Center is one of a handful of Y programs with a membership option). Since her arrival, she has created many highly successful membership programs including a referral program called Y Bucks, now in its tenth year; a large-scale annual open house; and a concierge service that assists new members in becoming fully acquainted with the May Center's offerings. In 1999, Ms. Eisler spearheaded the implementation of a computer-based membership-management system called Aspen, which she and her team use to improve communications with May Center members.

Among her other accomplishments is the expansion of the To Your Health lecture series, which brings nationally known doctors and other medical professionals to the 92nd Street Y to share the latest research and advice on wellness, disease-prevention and healthy living. In response to a demand for more extensive information about women's health, in 2000 Ms. Eisler created the Y's Women's Health Symposium, a full-day event featuring keynote speeches by nationally recognized healthcare leaders and seminars addressing a wide range of physical- and emotional-health issues. This annual program, which ran for seven years, included exhibit halls and free health screenings by Mount Sinai Hospital; each spring, hundreds of women from the greater tri-state area attended this event to learn both practical ways to take care of themselves and the latest research on women's health. This year, Ms. Eisler created a new 92nd Street Y symposium: Healthy, Wealthy & Wise: Life After 50, which addressed the record number of baby boomers in America today. The symposium was so successful that it will be held again next spring.

Before joining the 92nd Street Y, Ms. Eisler was a vice president of Marketing for Plus One Fitness Clinics and Physical Therapy and Director of Sales and Marketing for Sheraton Hotels in Philadelphia, Dallas, and Miami, as well as various other destination resorts. She graduated with highest honors from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
