Noar Programs

Noar combines after-school childcare and enrichment programs for children from kindergarten through sixth grade. Children attend one to five days per week. Programs are organized by grade level. Snacks are provided. Tuition is based on the number of days and selection of programs.

Program: Enrichment classes include drawing and painting, metalwork and jewelry, cartooning, sculpture and pottery, ballet, jazz, tap, modern dance, music technology, swim, tennis, gymnastics, soccer, basketball, cooking, Tae Kwan Do and more. Private music lessons may be scheduled. Children may elect to use the Noar Homework Center before or after their scheduled classes.

Transportation to the 92nd Street Y: Children travel with staff from their schools with the Noar Transportation Service (school bus/van, walkers depending on distance). Noar staff accompanies children from school directly to Noar. Transportation is provided from P.S. 6, Solomon Schechter East and West, P.S. 158, Lab School, P.S. 198, Manhattan New School, P.S.183, Hunter, Manhattan Country School.

    While in the program, children are placed into age-appropriate rooms: Junior Clubhouse (Kindergarten), Clubhouse I (Grades 1 & 2), Clubhouse II (Grades 3 & 4), and Senior Clubhouse (Grades 5 & 6).
  • The Noar program runs from Sep 10 to Jun 13 and begins each day at 3:00pm and ends at 6:00pm. Our staff of counselors and specialists provide a safe and fun-filled environment where children can always feel like they are at home.

    Junior Clubhouse
    For Kindergarteners
    The Playgroup environment is designed specifically for Kindergarten-aged children. When Playgroup children arrive, they are greeted by a staff of early childhood educators and college students with a 1:5 staff to student ratio. Monday through Thursday, a volunteer acts as an additional counselor in Playgroup.
    Playgroup children have the option of taking classes in our Junior Clubhouse Schedule [PDF], or enrolling in other classes that are only offered in the 92nd Street Y catalog (tuition varies by option). The Junior Clubhouse Schedule (Monday through Friday) includes a gymnastics class, swimming class, a dance class, a music or art class and a cooking class. The schedule will be available here for download in July. All children are accompanied to their classes by a counselor.
    When children are not participating in a class, they are able to relax and play games with friends and counselors in the Playgroup room which acts as their "home base." Weather permitting, Playgroup uses the Y's well equipped play terrace for outdoor time. Snacks are provided twice daily.

    Clubhouse I & Clubhouse II
    For 1st & 2nd Graders / 3rd & 4th Graders
    When Clubhouse children arrive, they are greeted by a staff of educators and college students with a 1:7 staff to child ratio. Monday through Thursday, two volunteers act as additional counselors in Clubhouse.
    Clubhouse children may take classes in our Clubhouse Enrichment Class Schedule, or enroll in other 92nd Street Y classes (tuition varies by option). The Clubhouse Enrichment Class Schedule consists of classes in gymnastics, swimming, dance, music, art and cooking. All children are accompanied to their classes by a counselor.
    When children are not participating in a class, they play games and relax with friends and counselors in the Clubhouse which acts as their "home base."
    In addition, each day a Clubhouse Art specialist joins clubhouse for individual and group projects with any children that wish to participate.
    Weather permitting, Clubhouse uses the Y's rooftop playground which is a safe, outdoor environment. Snacks are provided twice daily.

    Senior Clubhouse
    For 5th & 6th Graders
    When clubhouse children arrive, they are greeted by a staff of educators and college students with a 1:5 staff to child ratio.
    Clubhouse children have the option of taking classes in our Clubhouse Enrichment Class Schedule, or enrolling in other 92nd Street Y classes (tuition varies by option). The Clubhouse Enrichment Class Schedule consists of classes in gymnastics, swimming, dance, music, art, and cooking and children are given the freedom to walk to their classes on their own.
    When children are not participating in a class, they play games and relax with friends and counselors in the Clubhouse which acts as their "home base." Each day, Senior Clubhouse participants may join a Clubhouse Art specialist who joins Clubhouse II to do individual and group projects with any children that wish to participate.
    Weather permitting, Clubhouse uses the Y's rooftop playground which is a safe, outdoor environment. Snacks are provided twice daily.
