| Makor Artist-in-Residence Faculty Member |
| Nancy Ancowitz offers workshops to the Makor Artists-in-Residence to help them attract the attention to their creative work that they desire and deserve. The artists learn to identify their marketing goals and create realistic plans for promoting their work imaginatively and authentically. A thinking partner and stalwart supporter for her coaching clients, who range from CEOs to emerging leaders in the business and creative worlds, Nancy also teaches at NYU and the Smithsonian. She managed marketing communications for a multibillion-dollar business as a vice president at JP Morgan Chase & Co. Earlier in her career, as a jewelry designer, Nancy's clients included Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Henri Bendel, and I. Magnin. Her creative expressions include her after-hours life as a playwright. Her Cemetery of Lips, which she created as a Makor Artist-in-Residence, was selected into the CUNY Human Rights Theatre Project, the New York International Fringe Festival, and the Six Figures Theatre Company Artists of Tomorrow Festival. A staged reading of her Hablo, Diablo (translation: I Speak, Devil) played to sellout audiences at Makor and was featured in New York magazine. |
