Fantastic Gymnastics Camp is a 9am-5pm day camp (optional extended care available) for boys and girls ages 6-14.
Campers receive instruction in gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, dance, art, recreational sports and
creative movement. One day each week is devoted to a fun filled trip to an educational or recreational facility in
the greater New York City area.
Campers learn new skills and routines in the comfort of the May Center's air-conditioned gymnastics facility. The
gymnastic curriculum for girls covers balance beam, uneven bars and rhythmic gymnastics; included for boys are
p-bars, rings, high bar and pommel horse, with floor exercise and vaulting for both. At the completion of each
session campers have the opportunity to invite their family and friends to a special exhibition in which they share
their new gymnastics skills and routines.
Campers of all levels and abilities receive first-rate gymnastics instruction from USA Gymnastics Safety-Certified
coaches. All classes are taught by professional instructors from the 92nd Street Y and all swim instructors are
American Red Cross certified. The safety and well being of each camper is the first priority of The 92nd Street Y
teachers, counselors and staff. With a ratio of 6:1 (children to adults) for gymnastics and classroom activities and
4:1 for trips outside the Y, we can ensure excellent supervision and individual attention.
