| The 92nd Street Y's Educational Outreach Program empowers young people by making student involvement in the arts its primary goal. By providing instruction in the arts to students in public schools, children from diverse backgrounds develop confidence and skills that are immediately useful in all areas of life and learning. We believe that when teachers and artists form partnerships in the classroom, teaching and learning in the arts is strengthened and deepened. This innovative, collaborative method of teaching the arts is a successful and lasting way to reintroduce dance, music and the visual arts into the New York City Public Schools' core curriculum. |
