Camp Yaffa is a unique New York City and country (Rockland County) summer program combining the richness of children's art programming at the 92nd Street Y with the excitement of outdoor adventure. Utilizing the facilities of both the Y's art and dance studios and the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Pearl River, Rockland County, New York, children participate in visual arts, dance, musical theater, and more. Campers also enjoy traditional camp activities such as swimming, nature, ropes course, and low key sports. The focus on the arts and the quality of the instructors distinguishes Yaffa from other day camps. Our six-week camp session culminates in the annual Yaffa summer festival.

| Who are Yaffa campers? |
 |
Yaffa serves children ages 8-11 from a variety of public and private schools.
Children do not need specific artistic talents; they should simply have a particular interest in learning about and participating in various areas of the performing and visual arts. Children enjoy Yaffa for the wide range of age appropriate, dynamic activities we provide, and because of its warm, close-knit atmosphere. Many campers also prefer the combination of days spent in the city and days spent in the "country," as this is a very unique opportunity.

| What's a typical week like at Camp Yaffa? |
 |
Two days each week are spent at the 92nd Street Y where Yaffa campers enjoy the benefits of our renowned institution. They have a daily schedule that includes instruction in creative movement/dance, visual arts and musical theater, and they also swim in the Y's Olympic-sized pool.
Two days each week, Yaffa campers go to the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Pearl River, Rockland County, New York. Campers enjoy use of our arts centers that include dedicated studios for ceramics, painting, and jewelry-making. Campers also participate in a variety of traditional camp activities, including non-competitive sports, the climbing tower/zip line, archery and swimming.
Every Friday, Yaffa ends the week with a terrific trip. Past summer trips have included the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Tada Theatre, The Cloisters, and more. Each summer, the entire program is centered around a creative theme, which touches every aspect of the six-week program and helps determine trip destinations. |

| What is the Yaffa summer festival? |
 |
Each summer, Yaffa campers create and perform their own production based on a specific theme. Campers have creative input in the script, costume and scenery design, and all other aspects of the show as they spotlight their own talents in the areas of acting, singing, and dance. Parents, family and friends are all invited to the Yaffa festival, which includes the show and an exhibit of the artwork produced during the summer. This event fills the campers with pride in their accomplishments as they demonstrate their summer's work in a truly memorable fashion.
