Yomi Seniors strengthens independence and encourages new challenges. Campers participate in a variety of athletic and artistic activities and benefit from the natural setting of our campgrounds in Rockland County, New York while also exploring new places through weekly trips and overnights. Highlights include an overnight trips to Hershey Park, PA, as well as a four-night sleepaway adventure at the New Jersey Y Camps in Milford, Pennsylvania.

| Where is Yomi Seniors and how do campers travel to and from camp? |
|
Yomi Seniors takes place at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds located in Pearl River (Rockland County), New York. Campers enjoy use of a beautiful 100-acre camp setting, including pools, lake, streams, fields, basketball courts, ropes/challenge course, arts and nature centers, and more. Camp is located off of Exit 6 of the Palisades Parkway. From the George Washington Bridge, the ride is approximately 20 minutes. Children travel to and from the campgrounds on air-conditioned coach buses equipped with lavatories. Camp staff accompany them on the bus.

| Who are the Yomi Seniors staff? |
|
| Counselors are carefully chosen for their maturity, energy and experience with children. Senior counselors are college age and older. Our specialists are skilled and experienced in the areas they teach. The Camp Directors are dedicated educators who bring a wide range of camp background with them to ensure the success of the program and that the staff and campers are always well supervised. |

| Who are Yomi Seniors campers and how many children are in each group? |
|
Yomi Seniors campers are entering fifth and sixth grade at a variety of public and private schools. Children enjoy Yomi Seniors for the wide range of age appropriate, challenging activities. Approximately 12-14 campers are in each group supervised by two counselors. Boys and girls are grouped, according to age and gender. Every effort is made to accommodate special grouping requests.

| What's a typical day like at Yomi Seniors? |
|
Campers enjoy a daily program geared toward the needs, interests and abilities of our campers. They participate in a wide variety of activities including two daily swims (instructional and recreational), team sports, specialized arts, our challenging ropes course, digital photography and film making, nature, and more. Campers participate in both group activities and individual electives. Special events and other surprises add to the excitement of camp.

| Are trips included as part of the camp week? |
|
Yes! Yomi Seniors campers enjoy weekly trips to exciting destinations such as amusement and water parks, deep-sea fishing, white water rafting and a professional baseball game. The summer is highlighted by a 5-day, 4-night sleepaway adventure at the New Jersey "Y" Camps in Milford, PA.

| What about lunch? |
|
| Campers bring a bag lunch on most days, which is refrigerated at the campgrounds. A box lunch program is also available for an extra charge. The calendar of events will indicate occasional cookouts with hot dogs and hamburgers. Kosher food is provided and accommodations are made for vegetarian campers. On trip days, children may bring money and purchase food, if available, at their destination. |
