The 2009-2010 season will feature appearances by some of today’s finest authors, among them Adrienne Rich, Annie Proulx, A.S. Byatt, Chinua Achebe, Orhan Pamuk, John Irving, Paul Auster, Rita Dove, Charles Simic, Louise Glück, Philip Levine, Natasha Trethewey, Javier Marías, Peter Esterházy, John Banville, Sam Shepard and Suzan-Lori Parks.
And special events including A Celebration of Vladimir Nabokov with Martin Amis; An Evening of Beckett; The Tenth Muse with John Ashbery; The Poets’ Theater: The Correspondence between Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell with actors Kate Burton and Michael Cumpsty; The Critic’s Voice: First Reads with James Wood; The Immigrant Experience with Jamaica Kincaid; a dramatic adaptation of Don Quixote with music by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet; and our annual collaborations with the PEN World Voices Festival of international literature.

Your 2009-2010 subscription guarantees you a seat at 15 events in the main Reading Series. The 15 evenings are selected upon subscription and subscribers receive assigned seats to those events which take place in Kaufmann Concert Hall.
