Time Warner Cable's New York Region and Ovation are proud to support 92nd Street Y's Poetry Center Schools Project, a literary education program that reaches out to 1,500 public high-school students annually.
92Y's Poetry Center Schools Project combines in-class creative writing workshops, the opportunity for students to meet with leading contemporary writers and hear them read live in 92Y's concert hall—all free-of charge to students and schools.
The generous support of Time Warner Cable and Ovation inspires the imaginations of New York City students who would not otherwise enjoy these opportunities. Authors participating in the 2010/11 Project season include Rosanne Cash, Salman Rushdie, Ian Frazier, Maxine Hong Kingston, Tony Kushner and Victor LaValle. For more information on the full 2010/11 Poetry Center Reading Series, please visit www.92Y.org/Readings.
This partnership will provide the opportunity for you to experience the Poetry Center Schools Project firsthand through a series of short documentary videos that will be free to Time Warner Cable customers on Channel 1111 using On Demand. If you would like to be notified when the first video is posted, please join the Poetry Center's eNews.
92Y's Virtual Poetry Center provides archival audio and video recordings of some of the best writers of our time including Truman Capote, Kurt Vonnegut, Joyce Carol Oates and Derek Walcott.
