Brian Landrus

Brian Landrus is a low woodwind specialist, composer, and educator. He has received international recognition for his work on baritone saxophone, bass clarinet, and bass flute. Landrus has been voted rising star in Downbeat magazine's international critics poll in 2010 & 2011 and named one of the strongest voices on baritone saxophone of his generation. He has four CDs out as a leader with the most recent being Traverse, by the Brian Landrus Quartet featuring Michael Cain on piano, Lonnie Plaxico on bass, Billy Hart on drums, and Brian on baritone saxophone and bass clarinet. Landrus attended UNR for his bachelors of music degree and the New England Conservatory for two Master of music degrees, one in jazz composition and the other in jazz performance. Landrus lives in Brooklyn NY.
