Private Instruction & Faculty

92Y School of Music offers private instruction for adults and children on all orchestral instruments, piano and voice. New students to the school are invited to meet with the director to discuss their goals, expectations and schedule.

The interview process allows for best-suited teacher to student pairing. Student recitals are scheduled throughout the year with numerous opportunities to perform. Please call 212.415.5580 to schedule a placement interview and view our teachers by clicking here.

Students are encouraged to take Music Theory classes which accelerate and enhance private instrumental lessons. Vocalists are encouraged to add Ear Training classes to supplement private instruction. Tuition for theory classes is greatly reduced for those registered for private lessons.

Lessons are available 7 days a week.

  • Please refer to the School of Music semester calendar for holidays when the School is closed.
  • Instructors are required to provide a substitute teacher, or to make up lessons/classes they have cancelled.
