Established in 1917, for nearly 100 years 92Y’s School of Music has been providing a creative space where professional musicians and teachers share the joy of music with students of all ages and levels.

With an exceptional faculty of performers and recording artists, 92Y reaches over 1,000 students from beginner to pre-professional and offers the best and broadest music education opportunities in New York City. Private instrumental instruction is available on all orchestral instruments in addition to piano and voice and can include performance workshops and chamber music coaching.
Each of the 12 studios/classrooms has a Steinway grand piano. Two larger rooms have two grand pianos. Our state-of-the-art Music Technology Lab is equipped with eight stations each comprised of: full size Korg keyboard, digital recording equipment, Macintosh computers with Studio Logic and GarageBand™.
