92Y School of Music has been the training ground for great musicians since its founding in 1917.
With an exceptional faculty of performers and recording artists, 92Y offers the best and broadest music education opportunities in New York City - and has become the destination for musicians of all ages and levels of expertise. 92Y School of Music reaches over 1,000 students from beginner to pre-professional with courses in theory, musicianship, music history and music appreciation. Private instrumental instruction is available on all orchestral instruments in addition to piano and voice and can include performance workshops and chamber music coaching.
Each of the 12 studios/classrooms has a Steinway grand piano. Two larger rooms have two grand pianos. Our state-of-the-art Music Technology Lab is equipped with eight stations each comprised of: full size Korg keyboard, digital recording equipment, Macintosh computers with Studio Logic and GarageBand™.
