Melanie Adsit is a museum educator and educational consultant specializing in contemporary art. Melanie has worked in the education departments of The Museum of Modern Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Queens Museum of Art, her students ranging in age from 8 to 80. At the Whitney Museum, she has contributed extensive research and writing on modern and contemporary art to their educational publications and online teaching resources. She has guest lectured on contemporary art at NYU and served as member of the New York City Department of Education's Blueprint Enhancement Committee. She is also Program Director of Foster Pride, a non-profit organization that provides free after-school art programs to children and youth in foster care. Melanie received her B.A. from Boston University and her M.A. from Teacher's College, Columbia University.
