Every November we gear up for another day of TEENSGIVING ... and we’re hoping to make our next event our strongest to date!
Why? Because our city is always in need of service so each year we encourage New York City High School teens to be philanthropic, be selfless, and be excellent as they join the ‘GIVING.
TEENSGIVING is an annual one-day-only event in which hundreds of high school teenagers and adult volunteer chaperones participate in different community service projects all throughout New York City.
Each year TEENSGIVING volunteers have joined with various agencies to give much needed assistance. Such agencies have been Adopt A US Soldier – Letter Writing Campaign, Abraham Residence III – Jewish Board of Children and Family Services, Animal Haven, Atria Senior Living, Brooklyn Comm. Services, Kings Hwy Library, Cadman Park Conservancy (Bklyn), Carl Shurz Park Association, Central Park Conservancy: "Pitch In, Pick Up", Convenant House, Franciscan Community Center (Holy Name), HearthStone @ Esplanade – Alzheimer Care, Hebrew Home at Riverdale, Housing Works Thrift Shops, Humane Society, Inwood House, Jamie Rose Center – Assoc. to Benefit Children, Jewish Home and Hospital, Kateri Residence, Kehilat Sephardim of Ahavat Achim – Pantry, Kittay House (Jewish Home Lifecare), LES Ecology Center, Make A Child Smile Organization, MASBIA, Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty, Metropolitan Hospital for Kids, New York Animal Care & Control Center, New York City ING Marathon, NYC Partnership for Parks, Pediatric Cancer Foundation “BowlAThon”, Project Sunshine, Riverside Park Fund, St. Francis Xavier Church – Soup Kitchen, Terrance Cardinal Cooke Health Care Ctr, United Cerebral Palsy at Tanya Towers, United Cerebral Palsy at Waterside Plaza, Women-In-Need, Yorkville Common Pantry.
Student volunteers earn 6 Hours of Community Service Credit for joining the effort.
