Applying to college is often fraught with anxiety for students and parents alike. But it need not be!

Join Jacques Steinberg, author of The Gatekeepers: Inside the Admissions Process of a Premier College, a New York Times bestseller, for an illuminating overview of how colleges and universities select their students. Mr. Steinberg, who also edits The Choice blog on college admissions at The New York Times, will lead a panel of senior college admissions representatives. Panelists include:

Monique Rinere, Dean of Advising and Associate Dean of Student Affairs for Columbia College and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science in New York

Ms. Rinere has worked at Columbia since 2009. After serving as the Director of Studies of Mathey College and then as the Residential College Dean of Butler College at Princeton University, she became founding Associate Dean of the Advising Programs Office at Harvard College in 2006.

Robert J. Massa, Vice President for Communications at Lafayette College, Easton, PA

Prior to joining Lafayette, Mr. Massa was Vice President for Enrollment at Dickinson College and Dean of Admissions and Enrollment at Johns Hopkins University.

Kevin Reed, Associate Director of admission at the State University of New York Geneseo

Mr. Reed, who oversees all on-campus admission programming, has worked in college admissions for more than 17 years, and previously worked at Daemen College outside of Buffalo. He served the New York State Association of College Admission Counseling as a College Delegate from 2007-2010 and has agreed to a one year appointment for this year.

Jacques Steinberg will be selling and signing copies of The Gatekeepers: Inside the Admissions Process of a Premier College following the event.
