Jessica Perich Carleton

Recently returned to New York City from Paris, France after studying at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, Jessica Perich Carleton continues her active involvement in arts education as Assistant Director of Educational Outreach at 92Y. As the Outreach Coordinator for VSA Arts of NJ and Cape May Stage, Ms. Carleton conducted workshops, master classes, residencies and a theatre-making summer program for youth. She has also taught for the McCarter Theatre, Youth Stages, The Knowledge Project, Orlando Shakespeare Festival and Delaware Theatre Company. In addition to presenting at the American Alliance of Theatre Education Conference in Washington, D.C., Ms. Carleton published a book in 2012, Story Drama in the Special Needs Classroom: Step-by-Step Lesson Plans for Teaching through Dramatic Play.

Ms. Carleton taught at Acting International and Ecole Diagonale and participated with The Globe Theatre, The Tower of Babel, Trinity College, The Abbey Theatre, The Graffiti Youth Theatre and The University of Puerto Rico. She holds a Master of Arts in both Theatre Education from New York University and French from Middlebury College, has certification in Secondary English Education, and is a member of the Actor's Equity Association, American Alliance of Theatre Education, Theatre Communication Group and Educational Theater Association.
