92Y Harkness Dance Center is a place where pioneers and leaders in the field of Dance Therapy bring instruction of the highest caliber to those seeking to be in the company of inspired professionals.
In addition to offering continuing education for practicing Dance Therapists, we also welcome psychologists, social workers and educators who want to enhance their practice. We are the only approved complete Alternate Route training program in NYC and are committed to furthering the field through creativity, support and innovation.
New students are required to complete our Student Information Form and return it with a current CV.
Methods in Dance/Movement Therapy I & II are fully approved by the ADTA for alternate route credit for R-DMT training. Alternate route credit requires readings and a final paper. All Dance Therapy courses are eligible for CE hours. For further information about the American Dance Therapy Association, please visit www.ADTA.org. Most Dance Therapy courses can be taken for college undergraduate or graduate credit through Empire State College. Students pursuing credit will be given additional projects and writing assignments. Priority registration puts you at the front of the line to register for courses and events for an upcoming semester.
Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.
Who is eligible for priority registration?
Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.
How do I know if I qualify?
Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
