Carol Grocki Lewis has been on the faculty at the 92nd Street Y since 1995. She earned her M.A. in Museum Studies and Art History from the Gallatin Division at New York University in 1992 and her B.S. in Art Education from SUNY College at Buffalo. She has been a teaching ceramic artist from 92nd Street Y at P.S. 37 (River East K-5) in East Harlem (An Empire State Partnership). In addition to teaching at 92Y, Lewis has taught ceramics and art at Earthworks, Marymount Manhattan College and various public and private schools. Her work was most recently included in an exhibit, History in the Making: Ceramic Traditions and Contemporary Pots in Rochester, NY and received an honorable mention from the juror, Ron Meyers. Her work has also been included in Strictly Functional Ceramics Exhibits.

Bethany Pelle

Bethany Pelle is a sculptor and educator living in Queens, NY. Her work investigates subjective and collective desire through the examination and manipulation of domestic material culture. Bethany received her BFA in ceramics from the University of Miami in 2007 and her MFA in ceramics from Tyler School of Art in 2012. As a University Fellow at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, she taught undergraduate ceramics courses and assisted with day to day studio operations. Prior to graduate school, Bethany worked as a studio assistant to Bonnie Seeman, an instructor at the Ceramics League of Miami and an intern at the St. Petersburg Clay Co. In addition to teaching an adult course at 92Y, Bethany is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute and an editor for the Nicola Midnight St. Claire. Who is eligible for priority registration?
Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.
How do I know if I qualify?
Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
