Hip-Hop and Break Dancing for Boys consists of a warm-up, stretches, exercises, isolations, across the floor, combinations and free-style practices. Learn hip-hop dance vocabulary while learning about the history and evolution of the culture from east coast break-dance styles to west coast popping and locking techniques plus so much more. Emphasis is placed on free-style and personal expression of this dynamic dance culture.

Eli Kababa has worked as a teaching artist with New York City Ballet since 2005. He began his career as a Martial Artist/Break-dancer who became a Fine Arts Major and from the beginning has made a name for himself in part because of his ability to move through several genres of dance. His fusion style received special recognition at the Prague International Dance Festival for his choreography in the Dance Theatre Division. Together with Kimberly Pinto, Mr. Kababa formed Garden State Dance Project, which has performed extensively throughout New Jersey and New York and in 2007 was invited by the YM-YWHA of North Jersey to become the company in residence. In 2011, Mr. Kababa became the Dance Director of the Wayne, New Jersey YMCA School of Performing Arts. Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.
Who is eligible for priority registration?
Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.
How do I know if I qualify?
Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
