Would you believe your toddler can be part of a rhythm band? It’s true! Toddlers can learn to play in rhythm with each other and alternate in groups. These and other exercises in the Big Players classes provides a rich environment to hone and encourage these emerging skills through multisensory music activities and rhythmic dance. Because the toddler brain is rich with sensory connections just starting to form pathways of language, motor and social co-ordination, we focus on fast-paced, engaging activities that will excite you and your child (and probably tire them out for naptime after!). Big Players music making focuses on gross motor, body balance and complex auditory processing skills. As the toddlers enjoy the fun they are also learning to master fundamental body-awareness skills in new ways. They are fun and exciting activities for everyone!
Baby Rhythms offers music and movement classes for babies, toddlers and families. Our classes awaken and nurture young children’s development and are designed to boost early auditory, motor and social skills. Our classes pair age-appropriate group activities are paired with exciting music from different cultures to expand the musical “repertoire” of early learners. The emphasis is on caregiver interaction to help infants and toddlers learn by example to take turns, learn complex rhythms, dance and have fun doing it! The early music experience that we offer is scientifically proven to have positive effects on child development. Children enrolled in early music have 32% more literacy gain, hearing improvement in noise, decreased social anxiety, stronger memory retention and a heightened cultural awareness.
