Director of Tradition and Innovation
For the past decade, Rabbi Dan Ain has demonstrated an ability to
communicate to both affiliated and unaffiliated Jews, in NYC and
beyond. With over 33,000 followers on Twitter, packed Friday Night
Dinners and Holiday Services at 92YTribeca, and thriving Klezmer
Brunches at The New Shul's Rebbe's Table at City Winery, Rabbi Dan has
developed a reputation for hosting smart and provocative conversations
with such thinkers and artists as Deepak Chopra, Gilbert Gottfried,
Maira Kalman, Shalom Auslander and Father Jim Martin.
Ordained by The Jewish Theological Seminary, Rabbi Dan received a B.A.
in Philosophy from Brandeis University and a J.D. from Boston College
Law School. In addition, he has served as a faculty member at the
Academy for Jewish Religion and at CLAL, and lectures on the present
(and future) ideological clash between our burgeoning technological
beliefs and traditional Jewish faith. He was recently named one of The
Daily Beast's "Rabbis to Watch" for 2013.
He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Alana Joblin Ain and their
daughter, Autumn Prayer.
