Catherine Reed

Associate Executive Director for Development and Community Engagement

As associate executive director for development and community engagement, Catherine Reed oversees all of 92nd Street Y’s fundraising strategies and operations, including corporate support, government and foundation grants, board development, individual giving and special events.

The funds raised under Cathy’s leadership make it possible for 92Y to provide scholarships to summer camp, senior programs and art, music and dance classes to people who would not otherwise have access to these activities. Donations and grants also help 92Y to provide outstanding arts and science outreach to New York City public school students, both in school and in 92Y’s concert halls and classrooms.

Prior to joining 92Y, Cathy was national director of development for Hadassah, where she oversaw three years of a $350 million hospital capital campaign and managed 100+ staff members and volunteers. She began at Hadassah in 1996 as director of foundation and corporate relations. Prior to Hadassah, Cathy handled daily operations and financial management for the Civic Education Project in New Haven, CT (affiliated with Yale University); was an M & A associate for Creditanstalt International Advisers; and the program coordinator for Harvard’s Russian Research Center.

Cathy Reed earned an M.B.A. in Marketing and International Business at NYU and an A.M. at Harvard, where she studied Russian and East European politics and economics. She is married to Yitzhak Brudny, a professor at the Hebrew University, and is the mother of eight-year old twins.
