    92Y has been home to thousands of performances, readings and lectures in Kaufmann Concert Hall, Buttenwieser Hall and The Warburg Lounge.

    KAUFMANN CONCERT HALL

    Since the building opened in 1930, Kaufmann Concert Hall has been home to thousands of performances, readings and lectures. Long heralded as a place to experiment and debut new ideas, Kaufmann Concert Hall enables performers and patrons to explore new horizons. The classically styled interior allows the theater to operate as a multipurpose venue. The hall's excellent acoustics are admired for live musical performances, while its theatrical attributes make it a superb venue for lectures, readings, conferences and spoken word performances.

    BUTTENWIESER HALL

    Buttenwieser Hall, the second largest performance hall in the building, consists of a small proscenium stage with non-fixed seating to accommodate over 200 individuals. The space currently plays host to modern dance performances, concerts, literary readings, rehearsals and private parties. We have the ability to provide a full range of lighting and sound systems plus lighting plots, technicians and crew.

    WARBURG LOUNGE

    The Warburg Lounge, located immediately off of 92Y's main lobby. During the day, the room floods with natural light from the windows overlooking both Lexington Avenue and 92nd street. In the evening, guests are seated beneath majestic chandeliers. At 1,580 sqare feet, the Warburg Lounge is deal for recitals, parties and ceremonies.

  • Weill Art Gallery

    Milton J. Weill Art Gallery

    The Milton J. Weill Art Gallery, located directly outside the Kaufmann Concert Hall in the 92nd Street building lobby, serves 92nd Street Y and the arts community by exhibiting intellectually rigorous work by younger and established artists to help educate the public about a broad spectrum of issues in the visual arts.

    A home away from home for students, interns and young professionals. 92Y Residence is located in one of Manhattan's best neighborhoods and is just three blocks from Central Park, Museum Mile and numerous other treasures found only in the world's greatest city.

    Our students enjoy fully equipped Fine Arts, Ceramics and Jewelry studios. The Music School hosts eight soundproofed rehearsal/teaching rooms.

    ART STUDIOS

    Fine Arts Studios
    The Art Center's five fine art studios are equipped with easels, stools, drawing tables, painting tables, sculpture stands, slop sinks and ventilation fans to accommodate all types of drawing, watercolor, painting, figure sculpture and photography classes. Students must purchase their own art supplies and are provided with a supply list upon registration. A limited number of lockers are available for students to rent for a nominal fee on a yearly basis. Students can check on locker availability during the first week of the fall and spring semesters.     Ceramics Studios
    92Y's air-conditioned studios are equipped with 26 electric potter's wheels, a gas reduction kiln and three electric kilns. Students must supply their own tools, which may be purchased from 92Y for $15. Firing charge is four cents per cubic inch for two firings. All classes and workshops are held in Rooms 325 and 326. To visit the studio prior to registration, call 212.415.5565.

    Ceramics Open Studio
    Open studio time is available to currently enrolled students for a fee of $3 per hour.

    Jewelry & Metalsmithing Studios
    92Y's studios, on the third floor of the south building, are the most modern and fully equipped in New York City. Although some tools are available for class use, students are required to purchase their own basic set. Suggested tools, supply lists and department calendar are provided upon registration and are available for download online. For information, call 212.415.5564.

    Jewelry Studio Benchtime
    Benchtime is an opportunity for independent work without instruction for currently enrolled students for a fee of $3 per hour. Benchtime schedules are posted the second week of classes.

    MUSIC STUDIOS AND PRACTICE ROOMS

    Music Studios
    The Music School hosts eight soundproofed music rehearsal/teaching rooms and the only publicly accessible electronic music lab in the city. Our state-of-the-art music lab is equipped with MIDI keyboards, digital recording equipment, Macintosh computers and MIDI sequencing software. Eight music studio workstations are available. The lab is open to Music Technology class participants exclusively.

    Pass to Practice
    This practice card is available to individual musicians not enrolled in a School of Music class who seek a practice room with a baby grand piano. Practice room hours in the fall are 9:30am-1:30pm Monday-Friday, and 9:30am to 4:30pm on the weekends. Card expires six months after date of first use; not refundable or transferable.

    $15/$10 per hour with student ID and for seniors older than 60 with ID.
    $150/$100 for a 12-hour card.
