Unterberg Poetry Center's Writing Program offers students of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to hone their skills as writers and deepen their appreciation as readers.
A range of classes are available each semester:
Literary seminars and open-enrollment workshops show readers the way into writing.
Advanced workshops offer MFA-caliber instruction without requiring full-time commitment.
Master classes give students the opportunity to work with selected writers who are part of the Poetry Center season.
Students enjoy complimentary passes to select events in the Poetry Center’s world-renowned Reading Series.
How to enroll
Enrollment is open for literary seminars and introductory workshops. Enrollment for advanced workshops and master classes is by permission only. Students are chosen by instructors on the basis of manuscript submission. Applications can be submitted by post or online by Friday, September 19, at 5 pm. Scholarship assistance is available for all Writing Program applicants. Scholarship applications must be received by the manuscript deadline for advanced workshops and master classes. For details, visit 92Y’s Scholarship Program.
