Astaire and Rogers gliding across a dance floor; Gene Kelly joyfully splashing in puddles on a city street; John Travolta reveling in the spotlight at a Brooklyn disco.

As iconic as these celluloid dance sequences are, they’re only the tip of the iceberg. In this class we screen a fascinating selection of films—from notable musicals to gritty dramas to sensational swashbucklers—in which choreography is an essential component.

Each screening is followed by a lively discussion over lunch.

Director: Sydney Pollack. 1969.
