Police Academy
Star Steve Guttenberg in person to introduce the movie!
Sorry!

When the mayor loosens restrictions for entry into the Police Academy, a slew of misfits enroll, much to the dismay of Commandant Lassard (George Gaynes).
Lassard’s solution? Get lackey Lt. Harris (G.W. Bailey) to run the sub-par applicants ragged so they’ll quit. But Carey Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg) can’t quit: forced to sign up due to some trouble with the law, he employs his best pranks and wiseacre remarks to get thrown out. He’s in good company with one-man Foley artist Larvell Jones (Michael Winslow) and hot girl Karen Thompson (Kim Cattrall). The first in what became a six-sequel franchise of endlessly rewatchable movies, Police Academy does comedy in a way only the 1980s could have. Enjoy this classic as you’ve (probably) never seen it before—outside your living room and on the big screen, with an audience that will thrill over the familiar lines, and an in-person introduction from Steve Guttenberg.
Director: Hugh Wilson. 96 min. 1984. 35mm.
Also screening this evening at 7 pm: Short Circuit followed by Q&A with Guttenberg.
Part of the series Basic Cable Classics.
Ticket Price: $12
