Liam McEneaney's Writings with Music is the long-running reading series that pairs NYC's best writers with a jazz band that improvises music behind them, giving a funky, fun and slightly pretentious flavor to the reading series format.
Previous performers have included Mike Daisey, memoirist Janice Erlbaum and the writing staff of The Onion.
This installment features:
Myla Goldberg - The New York Times-bestselling author of Bee Season, which was the basis for the Richard Gere film of the same name. Her latest novel is The False Friend and is available from Anchor Books.
Christopher Weingarten - A rock critic for The Village Voice and the author of the recent book Hipster Puppies, based on his popular Tumblr blog of the same name.
Kambri Crews - A writer, producer and publicist working hard for her money so she doesn’t have to go back to where she grew up, in the woods of Texas with deaf parents. Her memoir Burn Down the Ground (Random House) will be released on Jan 10, 2012 and is available for pre-order.
