Kevin Geeks Out is the comedy-variety show hosted by writer-comedian Kevin Maher—a confabulation of vintage film clips and videos, new finds, guest experts, games and curiosities. To geek out with Kevin you don’t need to be a geek, you just need to love cool stuff.

This month, Kevin Geeks Out presents APRIL ALL-STARS, where some of the series’ favorite guests return to share their pet projects and deepest obsessions. The two-hour cultural cavalcade includes:

  • Professor Geoff Klock explores how William Shakespeare’s Hamlet has become a trope in popular culture, with an obsessive clip-reel featuring footage from over 70 films, cartoons and TV shows.
  • Elliott Kalan ("The Daily Show") shares his irrefutable guide to “Stout Character Actors of the 1940s”.
  • Cartoonist R. Sikoryak performs original comic-strips from his series “Masterpiece Comics” (translating world famous literature into cartoon parodies.)
  • In “I LOVE 1984: George Orwell vs. VH1” Kevin Maher recounts his difficult year at "Best Week Ever" and explains how talking-head clip-shows could be the most Orwellian type of media
  • Dan McCoy (The Flophouse Movie podcast) describes the lifespan of his trending twitter hash-tag #UpAllNightLost Movies
  • Special surprise presentations from Tom Blunt (host of the MEET THE LADY series) and M. Sweeney Lawless (comedy writer)
  • Plus trivia games and prizes.

Part of the monthly series Kevin Geeks Out.

Tickets: $10, Film Club Member: $6.
