Brief Bio
Todd Selby is an interiors, fashion and portrait photographer and illustrator whose work has been featured in British Vogue, Nylon, New York magazine and the London Sunday Times. His most recent project is Edible Selby, a collaboration with The New York Times’ T Magazine, in which he photographs the most creative and interesting people in food around the world. Todd’s earlier project, The Selby, offers an insider’s view of creative individuals in their personal spaces with an artist’s eye for detail. Todd is the author of the books The Selby is In Your Place and Edible Selby. Before working on these projects full time, Todd worked as a translator and Tijuana tour guide to the International Brotherhood of Machinists, a researcher into the California strawberry industry, a Costa Rican cartographer, a consultant on political corruption to a Mexican Senator, an art director at a venture capital firm, an exotic flower wholesaler, a Japanese clothing designer and a vermicomposting entrepreneur.

Danny Bowien is the chef and co-founder of San Francisco and New York’s Mission Chinese Food, named the #2 Best New Restaurant in America by Bon Appetit. He was named a 2011 Rising Star Chef by the San Francisco Chronicle and one of the 40 Big Thinkers under 40 by Food and Wine Magazine. He is a 2012 James Beard Finalist.
A self-taught baker, Caitlin Freeman is the resident pastry chef for Blue Bottle Coffee. Caitlin has earned national media attention for her desserts at the Blue Bottle Cafe in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, where she creates desserts inspired by art on view in the museum, expressing her love of art in her working medium, pastry. She is the co-author of The Blue Bottle Craft of Coffee: Growing, Roasting, and Drinking, with Recipes and the author of the forthcoming Modern Art Desserts.
James Freeman is the founder and owner of Blue Bottle Coffee Co. After starting out in a tiny converted potting shed in Oakland a few years ago, Blue Bottle is now one of the country's leading artisan roasters, with six cafés in the San Francisco Bay Area, roasteries on both coasts, a kiosk on the High Line, and locations in Rockefeller Center and Chelsea in Manhattan. He is the co-author of The Blue Bottle Craft of Coffee: Growing, Roasting, and Drinking, with Recipes.
Renowned baker Chad Robertson is the James Beard Award-winning co-owner of Tartine Bakery and Bar Tartine, and is the author of Tartine Bread and co-author of Tartine.
Chris Ying is the Editor in Chief of Lucky Peach, a quarterly journal of food and writing and a New York Times bestseller.
