BTS Acupuncture, PLLC

Acupuncture, a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is one of the oldest systems of medicine, dating back 4,000 years. The World Health Organization has determined that acupuncture is an effective therapy for over 200 conditions, including chronic and acute pain, emotional disorders, respiratory and gastrointestinal ailments, gynecological-related concerns, etc.

Acupuncture is based on the concept of qi (pronounced "chi"), a vital energy force that flows through the body. Imbalances in the flow of qi may cause illness. Acupuncture can help correct this flow of qi to promote improved health of the mind and body.

Sessions include an initial health assessment, followed by a customized blend of acupuncture, acupressure and/or Reiki treatments. Services are offered under the direction of Back to Sports Physical Therapy and delivered by Melanie Fernandi, LAc, a NYS-licensed acupuncturist with a background in Chinese Herbal Medicine. In addition to her practice at Back to Sports, Melanie is the administrator for the Integrative Medicine Department at NY-Presbyterian Hospital under the direction of Dr. Mehmet Oz. Visit, call 646.707.0400 or email for appointments and more information.
