Here are a few frequently asked questions:

What if I don’t want my membership to start immediately? Can my membership start on a different day?

Yes, you can choose the time of month to join!

Are classes included with this membership?

Yes. We have over 100 weekly classes to choose from. See our Activity Schedule for more information.

Can I hold my membership?

Yes. If you are traveling, or unable to use the May Center for medical or other reasons, we can freeze your membership for a minimum of a month to a maximum of 6 months. A $10/per month freeze fee may apply. Please call the membership office at 212.415.5729 for more information.

What are your hours of operation? Are the pool hours the same as the gym hours?

May Center, Pool and Front Desk

Mon-Thu: 5:30 am-10:30 pm
Friday: 5:30 am-9 pm
Sat-Sun: 7:30 am-8 pm


Are there memberships for different areas of the May Center, such as just for the pool?

No. Our membership allows access to all aspects of the May Center.

When can I play basketball?

Please visit our member class schedule page and view the sports schedule for the most up to date court times.

Can I cancel?

Yes, but it depends on your contract. Please contact a sales rep at 212.415.5729 for more information.

Do I have to be a member of 92Y May Center to take yoga or spinning classes?

No. You may purchase a one day pass for $35, however, we encourage you to visit our sales office or call 212.415.5729 to learn more about our membership packages.

What time can I swim?

Visit our Member Activity Schedule and select the Aquatics schedule link in the right column.

I would like to try new exercise equipment, but is there anyone available to teach me how to use them?

Each May Center member receives two one-hour fitness orientation sessions as part of the membership package, where a personal trainer will answer your equipment questions. In addition, the May Center has training staff available during regular hours of operation to assist you with any questions you may have about the Center’s equipment and facilities at no charge. You can also hire one of our trainers for one-on-one sessions to address your specific needs. Click here to tell us how we can help you achieve your fitness goals.

How can my friend sample the facilities and classes of the May Center?
