Eli Kababa has worked as a teaching artist with New York City Ballet since 2005. He began his career as a Martial Artist/Break-dancer who became a Fine Arts Major, and from the beginning has made a name for himself in part because of his ability to move through several genres of dance. His fusion style received special recognition at the Prague International Dance Festival for his choreography in the Dance Theatre Division. Together with Kimberly Pinto, Mr. Kababa formed Garden State Dance Project, which has performed extensively throughout New Jersey and New York and in 2007 was invited by the YM-YWHA of North Jersey to become the company in residence. In 2011, Mr. Kababa became the Dance Director of the Wayne, New Jersey YMCA School of Performing Arts. He also currently teaches and directs the School's Junior Company, 'Pioneers,' working in an eclectic blend of ballet, contemporary/modern and urban movement with the use of multimedia. Mr. Kababa also holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and Functional Movement Screen. He is also a husband and father and would like to dedicate his work to his family for all their love and support.
