Originally from Denver, Colorado Carrie Demos holds a B.A. in Performing Arts with Dance Concentration from Colorado State University. In her home state, she has taught Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Hip-Hop to children and teens with Canyon Concert Ballet, Broadway Bound Dance Academy, High Performance Dance Theatre and Colorado Ballet. As a choreographer, Carrie’s work has been selected for the Aspen Dance Connection’s Annual Juried Showcase, Dance Connection’s Northern Colorado Choreographer Showcases and American College Dance Association Regional Festivals. A former company member of the Denver/Boulder based company, Louder Than Words Dancetheatre (Chris Harris, artistic director), Carrie has also performed with Opera Fort Collins and Front Range Musical Theatre. A 2011 graduate of the Foundations of Dance Education, Dance Education Laboratory, Carrie has been assisting Megan Doyle in the 92nd Street Y’s Creative Broadway Kids as well as teaching Ballet/Tap at Apple Seeds School in New York. A continuous student and lover of the body in motion, Carrie has attended the FAMI (Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injuries) at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and has most recently studied Kinesthetic Anatomy & Biomechanics of Motion with Irene Dowd. Carrie is also a certified Pilates Mat Teacher (Kane School of Core Integration) and currently teaches at Loom Yoga in Brooklyn.
