Miriam Fried played with “fiery intensity and emotional depth”—Musical America

Hsin-Yun Huang gave “an electrifying performance”—The Strad

For more than 100 years, Eastern European composers have mined their native folk musical traditions for inspiration. How each composer has used that raw material has fascinated music lovers for just as long, varying their treatments with the times, regions and personal visions.
