Bios

Bridget Fitzgerald, viola, is a freelance soloist, chamber and orchestral musician and teacher based in Brooklyn. She regularly performs on viola and synthesizers with her bands, Discovery and Stereo Off. Playing anything from classical to rock to experimental she has appeared with groups including Ensemble Sospeso, Absolute Ensemble, Studio for New Music, ACME, New Juilliard Ensemble, SONYC and Nina Nastasia. Bridget collaborated on production of and performed the independent film score for Hansel and Gretel (Palehorse Productions), composed and also performed by her brother, violist Dylan Willemsa; recorded on Matador Records for electronica group Matmos, and was a featured soloist at the Why Note! Festival in Dijon, France for the French/NYC premiere of Joji Yuasa’s Viola Locus. She has participated numerous times in the Lincoln Center Festival, MoMA's Summergarden Series and Juilliard's FOCUS! Festival. At 92nd Street Y Bridget appears on pianist Orli Shaham's interactive concert series for children, Baby Got Bach. She has been teaching viola and violin at 92Y School of Music since 2007.

Bridget recently released two EPs: Look At You! with Discovery, and NY EP 5 Songs with Stereo Off.

Pianist Tania Tachkova has been praised by critics for performances that are “white-hot” and “very impressive.” She has appeared as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the United States and in Europe at venues such as the Wiener Saal at Mozarteum (Austria), Centro de Bellas Artes and Museo del Arte (Puerto Rico), Harris Hall (Aspen), Sarasota Opera House (Sarasota), the National Palace of Culture and the Great Bulgaria Hall (Bulgaria). She has been featured as a soloist with the Orchestra of the State Academy of Music (Sofia), Shoumen Philharmonic, Razgrad Philharmonic and the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have been broadcast on radio and television, including WQXR, WITF and Bulgarian National Television. Her CD Song to My Love with bassoonist Maria Wildhaber was released on MSR records and was critically acclaimed as “fantastic release” and “highly recommended.” Their second CD will be released in the summer of 2014 and will include rarely recorded works for bassoon and piano by eastern european composers. Ms. Tachkova earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts in piano performance from Stony Brook University.

Currently, she is on the piano faculty at the 92nd Street Y School of Music.

92Y YourStage provides a venue for independent curators, performers, and educators to mount a professional production. Yourstage events are confirmed once they meet a threshold for ticket sales by a certain date.

YourStage events that are ON have been confirmed; PENDING events need to generate more ticket sales; If an event fails to generate enough ticket sales, the event will be CALLED OFF, and all ticket holders will be refunded.

Who is eligible for priority registration?

Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.

How do I know if I qualify?

Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
