Lorraine Hansberry's classic play, A Raisin in the Sun, premiered on Broadway in 1959 and is enjoying a revival this spring at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre starring Denzel Washington.

Award-winning playwright, documentary writer, critic and teacher, Tony Vellela, will provide an in-depth examination of the play, including the background of its creation and the struggle to get it produced. He will also show unique footage from revealing interviews he conducted with members of the original cast, director and lead producer, as well as iconic actors such as Phylicia Rashad, Joe Morton and Audra McDonald, who have since reinterpreted roles in the play. Perfect for fans of this classic play, and a must for anyone planning to see the revival this spring!
