We will explore the creative and expressive use of the arts for healing and self-actualization.
You do not have to have experience in the arts to enjoy and learn. Focus will be on both personal expression and learning creative therapeutic methods. This work is designed for individuals who want to become more comfortable with their own creative potential and that of others. We will explore the unique expressive properties of different modalities including art, dance, drama, music and writing. Each modality builds on the other and the shared creative experience paves the way for self-knowledge, empathy and insight. Clinical discussion will shed light on when and how to use the arts in treatment, and cases will be presented.
Sat-Sun, Apr 26-27, 2014, 1:30-6:30 pm, 2 sessions, $185 until Apr 18 / $200 after.
