Take 92nd Street Y and bring it to a beautiful, natural outdoor setting. Keep all the values in place, but recreate it just for children—just for summer. Staff it with experienced, caring people who understand and love children. Fill it with experiences where children can explore, learn and have fun. Create a community where good friends are made and wonderful memories are created. What do you get? A place called 92Y Camp Yomi.
Camp is so important for young people because it really helps to build confidence and grow self-esteem. We want to breed success and have kids walk away feeling ownership over something, proud of the fact that they've taken a risk, or tried something new. We are dedicated to providing the highest standard in camping. Most of all, we want our children to come home with a big smile every single day. Yomi groups are all co-ed—we expose all our campers to everything we have to offer, so they can develop their interests in a safe place. It's really a reflection of the real world experience that awaits them, which is an added bonus! Give your child the best summer of their life.
Counselors are carefully chosen for their maturity, energy and experience with children. Senior counselors are college age and older. Specialists are skilled and experienced in the areas they teach. Unit supervisors and head counselors are caring, experienced educators with a love for children and a commitment to our camp philosophy and program. A large percentage of our staff returns year after year and many of our counselors attended our camps when they were children. The camp administration is comprised of experienced professionals who have many decades of camp experience to draw upon to ensure a fabulous summer for our campers.
