Brooklyn-based artist Sasha Spare will hold residencies at One New York Plaza provided by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers and at Iceland's Hafnarfjordur Center of Culture and Fine Art. Her work has been shown in a solo exhibition at the School of Visual Arts MFA Art Writing and Criticism Library. Notable group exhibitions include Life In A Peaceful New World at Interstate Projects, The Degenerate Craft Fair at the DCTV Firehouse and By The Wind Sailors at Flux Factory.
A graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute (BFA), she relocated to New York in 2006. She has had the pleasure of collaborating with youth, educators, and artists alike in various programs of San Francisco and New York. Currently, she teaches at 92nd Street Y's School of the Arts and is affiliated with Wingspan Arts and Bronx Arts Ensemble in conjunction with New York City public schools.
