Pianist Tania Tachkova has appeared as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the United States and in Europe. Her performances have taken her to numerous venues which include the Wiener Saal at Mozarteum (Salzburg), Centro de Bellas Artes and Museo del Arte (San Juan), the National Palace of Culture and the Great Bulgaria Hall (Sofia), and Harris Hall (Aspen). She has been featured as a soloist with the Orchestra of the State Academy of Music (Sofia), Shoumen Philharmonic, Razgrad Philharmonic, and the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Ms. Tachkova is a staunch advocate of contemporary music and is a recipient of many awards, grants and scholarships. Her performances have been broadcast on radio and television including WQXR and Bulgarian National Television. Ms. Tachkova received her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2006.
