Barbara Beck, B.A. University of Minnesota; Graduate studies in Philosophy, University of Minnesota. Beck received a New York State Council on the Arts Grant in 1985 and her work was included in Woody Allen's film Manhattan. Founder of Studio Gallery 88, 1996. Her work consists of various media including clay, mixed media, watercolor and woodcuts. Illustrated books include the 2003 poetry book Birds of Sorrow and Joy by M. Tiger. Exhibitions have been in many states including New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Washington, D. C. and Minnesota. Beck maintains a studio and gallery in New York City.
