Ann Biddle has been a professional dancer, choreographer and dance educator for the past twenty years. Ms. Biddle has taught dance and dance education extensively in the New York, New Jersey region in both private and public schools and at the University level. Ms. Biddle is the Founder and Director of Stories in Motion™, a creative movement and literacy-based enrichment program for children six months to fourteen years old, with studio locations and residency programs in New York and New Jersey. Stories in Motion™ is an innovative dance curriculum that combines movement exploration, dance making, storytelling and percussion in a physically dynamic and imaginative manner.
Ms. Biddle was a Founder and Co-Director of the Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) at the Harkness Dance Center at 92Y, which offers teacher certification program and staff development workshops for dancers and NYC public school teachers. Ms. Biddle has taught workshops under the auspices of the 92Y DEL program, Community School District 22, Regions 9, 10 and 3 in New York City, New York University, Brooklyn Museum, Face to Face 2000, Skidmore College, Arts in Education Roundtable, Colorado College and New Jersey public schools.
She is currently a curriculum consultant and staff developer for the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) and was a consultant for the NYCDOE’s Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Dance document. A former Fulbright scholar, Ms. Biddle has an MA in Dance Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in English from Kenyon College.
