Jean Volpe

Jean Volpe, as a principle soloist with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet and Metropolitan Opera Ballet Ensemble, had an illustrious performing career that included a dazzling array of guest artist performance and choreographic engagements, including a soloist position with the Zurich Ballet, where she performed lead roles in ballets by Anthony Tudor, Frederick Ashton, and others. Ms. Volpe has choreographed for New York City’s Dance Ring (now New York Theater Ballet), the Festival de Jarnac in Jarnac, France, and various work in the New York City area. As a teacher, Ms. Volpe’s extensive experience began as a faculty member with master teacher Margaret Craske at the Manhattan School of Dance. She has continued to share her love of dance and teaching to children and adults at Ballet School New York, Montclair Community College and now at the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center.
