Ritsuko Arpon from Japan is a classically trained dancer, actress, model and theater dance choreographer. She has toured nationally with Japanese singer Mika Nakashima and has modeled for ballet instructional magazines and videos. Ms. Arpon moved to New York in 2006.
She is a former principal dancer of the Albano Ballet Company and New Generation Dance Company. She was a principal dancer at Madonna’s “Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange.” Ms. Arpon first studied tango with Karina Romero and Dardo Galletto. She has worked and studied with some of the most distinguished names in the tango world including Carlos Copello, Carlos Maxi, Natalia Hills, Oliver Kolker, Mariana Dragone, Maria Blanco, Ivan Terrazas, Sara Gardan and former dance captain of “Forever Tango,” Jorge Torres. She has also taken numerous workshops in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Ms. Arpon currently teaches Tango at 92nd Street Y in New York City and is a freelance artist.
